What: Rolling Hills Tour 2001

When: May 18-20, 2001

Where: Northern Kentucky

Why attend? For the fun of meeting other MR2 enthusiasts like yourself.  For the excitement of driving on some very fun, twisty, and scenic roads within a caravan of MR2's.  For the experience of seeing some of the more interesting places northern Kentucky has to offer.  For the chance at winning some very nice prizes and the chance at winning an award after your peers vote your car there favorite.  And for the pure enjoyment we will have at the Import Drag while kicking some Honda butt.

If any of these things interest you at all, I suggest you plan on attending the Rolling Hills Tour in northern Kentucky in May.

Meet and greet those from out of town, and end the evening with a leisurely dinner at a place yet to be named.  Hotel information

Saturday May 19, 2001

$5.00 admission fee for Saturday

7:00 a.m. Breakfast on your own.
9:00 a.m. start meeting at Devou Park Directions to park.
Approx. 10:30 a.m. we will do the judging for the Crowd favorites.  Everyone who gets a packet will have an information card that they will fill out and put under there wiper of there car.  There will be numbers on these cards.  You will also have a form to fill out for your favorite MKI, MKII, MKIII.  When you are filling out your favorite car, look on the information card under the wiper and right down the Car Number.  That will make it easier for me to figure out who wins what.  We will be handing out all the prizes and awards at dinner.
Approx. 11:30 we will be leaving the park.  We will be stopping in Rabbit Hash KY again this year.  We may be stopping at Kentucky Speedway. If we do not stop at the KY Speedway we will be stopping in Dry Ridge KY for a little break.  This could give you a little time to grab a bite to eat or do some shopping at the outlet stores.  We will be staying there only about 1 hour.  That should give people a little time to rest or do whatever.  Then we are off to some beautiful and fun roads.  This is where you will understand why we named the event Rolling Hills Tour.
Approx. 6:00 p.m. we will be stopping for dinner at the Cold Spring Roadhouse.  Dinner will range from $12.99-$19.99.  I have to know exactly how many we will have for dinner so you have to let me know if you and your guest plan on attending dinner.  Remember this is when I will be giving out all the prizes.

After dinner you are pretty much on your own.  I will get you back to the highway, your hotel or wherever you plan on going.  There are some fun things to do in Northern KY.  You will notice when you get off to go to Devou Park on Saturday there is a festival going on.  It is called Maifest.  There is a ton of good food and drinks, a lot of craft booths and a lot of games to play.  I go for the food.  A lot of others go because it is a huge party.  We also have an aquarium in Newport KY along with a bunch of bars and restaurants on the river.

Sunday May 20, 2001

We will be meeting up at the Goodie Shop in Cleves, Ohio on our way to the Import Day at Edewater Raceway.  I will meet up with out of town people at 8:30 at the hotel to drive over as a group.  We will plan on getting there around 9:00. If this event is like last years there will be a car show you can enter, or the drag race, or of course you can just watch.  Last year admission was $10.  But I don't think you had to pay extra to race or enter the car show, they were $10 as well.  I am hoping for a good MR2 turnout since last year there was only two MR2's in a see of Hondas.

For this event there will be a $5.00 admission per person for Saturday's festivities, we will have name tags, which you will receive when you pay the admission.  Why do I feel the need to charge for the event?  Because I can buy some better prizes, and awards if I have some money to do it with.  I am not a wealthy person and can't afford to much out of pocket expense.  I hope you understand.

All the information you will need will be in your packet you will receive when you register and pay your $5 per person fee. Every person that will be attending will eligible to win prizes as long as you have paid in advance. The packet will have directions to everything we are going to be doing along with some other useful information.  Yes you will have to sign a waiver to attend the event.

If you plan to attend this meet PLEASE email me at jshut@home.com and let me know how many will be coming with you and there names, so I can get the name tags ready.  If you would like to send you admission fee in early I would totally appreciate it, you can send it to Joe Shutte 2013 Woodmeadow Drive, Independence, KY 41051.
